Swirly Wirly Day 1

Swirly Wirly Day 1

I think that I’ve almost got Photoshop figured out. For one thing, I actually bothered to learn how to use the path tool. I used it to make swirlies!

The colours and positions of the swirls will most likey be different in the finished piece. I’ve just got them like this so that they are easier to see.

I must put food in “mah belleh” now.

Return of the Shoop

Toxic Love

I finally got around to reinstalling Photoshop. I can now get back to photoshoping Steve Buscemi’s head onto the bodies of goats… And making digital arts. Tral alal lala…

Like this arts I made? It’s an infected heart with weird pushpins stuck into it. It’s meant to represent the hardships of coal miners.

No it’s not…

Misery

Soooooo, I remembered too late that, since I upgrade to Windows 7, Photoshop and my tablet are no longer installed. So, instead of an awesome drawing, you get this crappy drawing and I will regale you with an awesome true story.

During the big power-out of 2003, I was all like “Don’t worry, the power will turn on any second now.” and then, about a second later, the power turned back on.

Awesome eh? Totally awesome. You can’t even contemplate how awesome that was.

Too bad only my brothers were around to see it. *frowny-face*

Assorted Insanities of the Past

I had this project, years ago, where I posted a doodle every day. I only lasted about two weeks and nobody saw any of it.

Anyway, I’ve chosen some of the more insane of the doodles to entertain you.

I have this thing where I find faces on things that shouldn’t have a face absolutely hilarious. Even more-so if those faces are angry.

c6

Monkey in a Jar of Evil, is a character from the margins of my homework in High School.

c9

Hey! You are a carrot! You are not supposed to have a face! Or a gun.

c12

This one’s just cute. I should totally write a children’s book.

c16

Funny story, I drew this one after I had watched an episode of “My Super Sweet 16″. This is how I see those girls.

c13

UFO’s are a growing problem for anthropomorphized flowers.

c20

I drew this one after reading a article about how the Wii was supposed to be dangerous and cause injuries.

Nine Layers

9 layers

I’m still trying to get a handle on this whole “digital art” thing. I’m not so good at manipulating things that I can’t actually touch. I’m sticking to abstracts, right now, because they are easy.

Self-Similarity

I’ve enjoyed fractals since I learned about the Mandelbrot set, when I was about age eight. Now that I’ve discovered the fractal rendering program, Apophysis, I can make my very own fractals. And, thus, an all-consuming obsession is born.

Do magenta and brown go together? Is the combination against one of those style rules that I’ve been ignoring all my life? Clashing is good. Clashing is interesting.

…Monochrome can be interesting, though, as well.

With all the bizillions of snowflakes that fall and the fact that snowflake formation has to obey certain rules (always with the hexagons), you’d think that you could find two identical ones. Humans growth has to obey certain rules as well, but even identical twins have different fingerprints. We’re all special.

I’ve alway wanted to visit a nebula, but I have this sinking feeling that seeing gas close-up isn’t as interesting as seeing it from faraway.

I’m blue da ba dee da ba die (repeat ad naseum). I ate you Eiffel 65. So much.

One of the best parts about painting is the first time you dip the brush into the water and the colour goes swirling around.

See if you can count all the circles in this picture. It will drive you mad.

The low-res versions of these fractal renderings don’t really do them justice. You can get a .rar of the hi-res versions here: https://rapidshare.com/files/301824477/fractals.rar

NaBloPoMo

NaBloPoMo stands for “National Blog Posting Month”. It’s basically just an event where you post every day for a month. This year, I’ve decided to participate, because, honestly, I really need to post some more content up on this blog. So, check back every day, this month, for new content!

… Also, I really want to win one of the Sock Zombies.
